The Postcards Project will create 50 short movements for piano, each representing a “postcard” from a state.
Because of the scope of this project, I am inviting any professional-level pianist to sign up to premiere a portion of the composition.
It will work this way:
1) Pianists from around the country will fill out an online form (see below)
2) The first pianist from each state will be the performer of the premiere for that state
3) In addition to performing his or her own state, the pianists will play 2-4 other “postcards.”
4) Composition on the “postcards” will begin immediately, once any postcards have been assigned.
5) Each performer will send a high-quality recording to the composer of the postcards that were performed. These recordings may be compiled into a single disk, possibly for release on CD/digital media.
6) Each performer will receive a copy of all the postcards on CD once they all have been finished and the CD has been mastered.

*There will be no monetary transactions between the performers and the composer.
*Once selected, the performers will be given more detailed information.
